Chameleon Calendar - Active Calendar on Your Desktop Wallpaper
Review by on
A very short time ago I took a look at the Softshape-developed application Chameleon Clock and I liked several things about it. I liked that you can customize the way it looks, that you can set up reminders and alarms, that it can replace the Windows tray clock or show a floating clock, and that it features a calendar.

Now I would like to switch focus away from Chameleon Calendar but not away from Softshape. I would like to put the spotlight on another Softshape-developed application, mainly on Chameleon Calendar. This is an application that creates an active calendar on your desktop wallpaper. It basically turns your desktop wallpaper into a calendar.

Should you decide to get Chameleon Calendar and give it a try, you need to check out its main features. Here they are:
- Ensures the calendar is visible on any background.
- Displays records when you place the mouse on the calendar.
- Lets you set the transparency of the calendar.
- Shows week numbers.
- Shows all of next month or just half of next month.
- Shows the date in the system tray.
- Lets you print calendars and records.
- Lets you customize the way the calendar looks with skins.
- Can automatically change the background image after a set amount of time (like every hour)

To enjoy the functionality Chameleon Calendar provides you will of course have to download and install the application on your Windows-powered PC. I brought this up because I want to say that the Chameleon Calendar download weighs in at a mere 2.8MB; even on a less than spectacular internet connection it will take very little time for such a lightweight download to complete. I also wanted to say that installing Chameleon Calendar takes little time as well; it is a simple, straightforward process that goes along smoothly and rapidly.

Please note that Chameleon Calendar is not freeware. You can use it free of charge, but only for a trial period of 30 days.

Pros
  • Downloads and installs fast
  • Skins
  • Select different background images, set it up so background images are changed automatically
  • Print calendars and records

Cons
  • Free to try (30-day trial)
  • Nag screen
